For stress Reduction
“Stress: A particular relationship between the person and the environment that is appraised by the person as taxing or exceeding his/her resources and endangering his/her well-being” R. Lazarous
Are you feeling stressed, anxious and even overwhelmed? Would you like to learn about meditation and mindfulness techniques to help you find space to acknowledge and respond to these powerful feelings?
Would you like to use this space to find inner freedom to transform stressors into challenges and opportunities for growth and creativity and improve your quality of life during and beyond this time?
Mindfulness and meditation help us to respond rather than react to stress by becoming aware of our moment to moment experience.
Mindfulness and meditation are evidence-based practices, which help us manage stressful situations by coming back to what’s happening in the moment rather than getting carried away by thoughts and losing perspective and becoming caught up in fight and flight and hyperarousal. You might still be lonely, isolated and feeling stressed by all that is going on but you will learn techniques to become better able to take care of yourself and calm your nervous system and as you do this you are more able to remember the larger view in each moment.
Mindfulness helps us discover that we don’t have to live with all the unhelpful thoughts and feelings that we experience in reaction to stressful experiences. Mindfulness practice doesn’t get rid of problems – while we’re alive we’ll always have problems – it helps us to change how we perceive them and our relationship with them. It helps us to rediscover choice and find new ways of looking at problems that can transform the way we experience our life’s challenges.
